Retail prices of petroleum products will remain unchanged except for jet fuel.

 

The Ministry of Trade and Regional Cooperation has announced that the retail price of fuel products will remain unchanged from tomorrow, July 23, 2014 until August 30, 2014.

 

Regarding jet fuel, it has been decided to sell it at Addis Ababa at 84 birr and 42 cents per liter based on current international prices.

 

The minister also mentioned that the targeted fuel subsidy system that is being implemented will continue in the same way in August.

 

The ministry stated that although there are some loopholes that need to be fixed, good results have been recorded since the beginning.

 

The Ministry of Trade and Regional Relations has announced in a statement that the system is benefiting the sections of the society who should benefit from the targeted subsidy better than the previous lump sum subsidy system.
