A discussion was held on the delimitation of the Oromia Special Zone around Addis Ababa city and Finfine.

Addis Ababa: A public discussion was held on the agreement reached by the two parties regarding the demarcation of the administrative boundaries of the Oromia Special Zone around Addis Ababa city and Finfine.

The discussion was held in the presence of senior federal and regional government officials, including Oromia Region Governor Shimelesh Abdisan and Addis Ababa Mayor Adanech Abebe.

Information from the Addis Ababa branch office indicated that various sections of the society, religious leaders, elders and representatives of residents from Addis Ababa city and the Oromia Special Zone around Finfine participated in the forum.

Mayor Adanech Abebe, in his speech at the meeting, said that we have successfully completed the administrative boundary issue between Addis Ababa and the Oromia Special Zone around Finfine, with a high sense of responsibility, hard work and commitment, working with our people and consulting on it.

They stated that the issue of administrative boundaries, which has been being worked on by a joint technical committee and has been being advised since last year, has been reached according to the Constitution and the Addis Ababa City Charter, which stipulates that the boundary issue will be resolved by the two administrative bodies.

With this historic decision, we have agreed that the Oromia region will continue to be governed by Addis Ababa, and by entering a special zone around Oromia, the condominiums built in remote Addis Ababa, for example Koyefeche, Tuludimtu and Jemo number two, have been allocated to the Oromia special zone.

They explained that an agreement has been reached to transfer the Kotori condominium built by the Oromia region to the Addis Ababa city administration, including the Furi Hanana and Oromia condominiums up to the Karsa River.

Apart from that, he pointed out that a historic agreement has been reached so that everyone can manage where they are.

He confirmed that in the areas affected by this administrative boundary, no government services will be interrupted in the areas, service and security work will be done jointly on both sides, projects under construction will not be stopped and instead, special monitoring will be done to ensure that they are completed quickly.

They also stated that the education process and students' language issues will continue and that language will not have any effect on the government services provided.

It was observed that the main purpose of the discussion is to implement the agreement reached in a way that strengthens the unity and development of the people and provides lasting solutions.

Based on the research of the public forum, the demarcation of the administrative decision was presented to the participants.

The study and the decision reached as the starting point of the study were widely discussed and the future direction of implementation was set.
