He also announced that enough well drilling and geospatial work has been done across the country to achieve the set goal. He also pointed out that on August 13, 2016, a massive sapling planting campaign will be held overnight. In 2015, more than 500 million saplings were planted in the overnight sapling program. Ethiopia's forest cover has increased from 17.2 percent to 23.6 percent in the last five years. It has been pointed out that it is being done to increase this figure to 30 percent by 2030. The Green Footprint program of 2016 is being implemented under the theme of a generation that strengthens a country that plants.
