Laboratory equipment worth more than 9 million birr was supported for 11 hospitals
Addis Ababa, Ohio State's Global One Health program has supported 11 hospitals in Amhara and Afar regions that have been damaged by the war with laboratory equipment worth more than 9 million birr.
In his speech at the handover ceremony, the Minister of Health, Dr. Lia Tadese, said that although extensive efforts have been made to rebuild the health facilities that were destroyed due to the war, it has not been possible to solve the problem as planned.
In this regard, he emphasized that the help of partners is important.
He said that the support given today by the Ohio State Global One Health program will greatly help the hospitals that were damaged in the war to return to their previous work.
Dr. Eba Abate, director of Ohio State's Global One Health program in Ethiopia, pointed out that the support was based on gaps.
ESA reported that when the equipment is put into service, it will be possible to provide a wide range of services to the local community.
At the same time, the Korean government and EXIM Bank have donated laboratory test kits for Cvd-19 testing.
