In central Gondar zone, Wegera district, between Dabrasona and Tzadkan kebeles, in a place called Tha with special name, the pedestrian crossing bridge was built with the financial support of the Agricultural Development Program (AGP) and collapsed four days after it was opened for use, the district has announced that it is false.

Tesfaye Chelot, Head of Communications of the Wegera district government, told Bisrat Radio that although the bridge suffered minor damage after its inauguration, it did not collapse. The manager announced that 488 shs 537 birr were spent.

After the inauguration of the bridge, there was some minor damage in the first section, he said, and pointed out that due to the weather at the time, it was not possible to repair it immediately. Even so, the information spread that it was completely destroyed within four days of its inauguration is false, Ato Tesfaye told Bisrat Radio.

Earlier, it was said that the construction process of the bridge was delayed due to various reasons.
