Green Legacy Program has created a great potential for environmental protection

Ethiopia’s Green Legacy Program is creating a capacity to withstand the pressure of climate change and achieve sustainable development goals, said Dr. Adefris Worku, Coordinator of the Green Legacy National Technical Committee.

 

The coordinator explained that the Green Legacy Program, which was launched at the initiative of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD), has great objectives.

 

He also noted that the program protects existing forests and water resources, prevents dams from silting up, and plays a vital role in improving the food system.

 

The coordinator explained that Ethiopia is vulnerable to the effects of climate change; he explained that the program has enabled this vulnerability to be reduced and resilience to be increased, EZA reported.

 

The coordinator said that Ethiopia is entering the carbon market; He pointed out that the Green Footprint Program also allows it to take advantage of the market.
