The 22nd Great Run is being held in Ethiopia

 

November 11/2015 - The 22nd Great Run is currently underway in Ethiopia and the competition between the athletes has come to an end.

 

More than 40,000 people are participating in this race, which is being held for the 22nd time this year.

 

Abe Gashau from Amhara Prison finished alone in the Elite Athletes competition where more than 500 athletes participated.

 

While Hailemariam Amare came second in the competition, Gemechu Dida, the winner of last year's competition, was able to finish with the 3rd place.

 

In the women's Thugst City, she finished the competition in first place, while Meilas Love and Foten Tesfaye finished second and third.

 

Prizes were given to the winning athletes from the guests of honor of the day. Prizes of 150,000 Birr, 50,000 Birr for the second and 25,000 Birr for the 3rd place were given to them.

 

President Sahlework Zewde, Minister of Culture and Sports Kejela Merdasa and Addis Ababa Mayor Adanech Abebe attended the race's launch ceremony, along with senior government officials, invited guests, and famous athletes.
