Addis Ababa, April 2023: The establishment of Sodo Oromo Melba Geda was held in Oda Kelcha, Sodo district of Seden.

It was said in the ceremony that the Sodo Oromo had to stop the Geda ceremony due to various pressures in the previous ceremonies.

ABC reported that the suspended Sodo Oromo Geda system was restarted in the presence of Tulema Abagade and the secretary of the union of Oromo Abagedas, Abageda Gobena Hola.

They decided that Gonfa was appointed as Sodo Oromo Melba Abagade by Sodo Oromo Aba Muda.

At the ceremony, members of Geda Segeli, including Aba Chife, Aba Saa, Aba Sera and Aba Mati, were appointed.

It is said that the establishment of the Sodo Oromo Melba Geda system helps preserve the values of the Geda system and transmit it to the next generation.

Various sections of society from all the districts of the zone participated in the ceremony.
