The Afar Region Mineral Development Corporation, which was established with an initial capital of 500 million birr, has officially started its operations today.

The corporation is a development organization established by the state government in accordance with Proclamation No. 015/2014 and it is stated that it has entered into operation by fulfilling the necessary conditions.

It is said that the main mission is to support the structural economic transformation of the region and Ethiopia, by identifying and developing the region's mineral resources of strategic and economic importance by researching and developing them and offering them to the local and foreign markets, converting the region's potential natural resources into tangible economic benefits, and improving the lives of the community.

ESA reported that the Afar region government has announced that the corporation will actively participate in the mineral trade with the aim of building a national and international competitive institution.

The state government has announced that it will provide the necessary support for the success of the corporation.
