An infotainment program on Sunday afternoon with EBS’ own Asfaw Meshesha ,Nafkot Tigistu, Mekdes Debesay & Tinsae Berhane .

Employers were asked to verify the legitimacy of the educational credentials of employees who graduated from private educational institutions.

 

The Federal Education and Training Authority stressed that both public and private employers should verify the legality and validity of the employees' educational credentials before hiring their employees who graduated from private higher education institutions and new employees.

 

It also stated that consumers or legal agents can get the service by meeting the following requirements before going to the authority to get the verification service.

 

The requirements are:

 

1. Original Degree with the signature and stamp of the Head and Registrar of the College on the reverse side along with a copy;

2. Original Transcript/Student Copy with the signature and stamp of the Head and Registrar of the College on the back attached;

3. Original Diploma or 12th Class Completion Certificate held as admission to study the degree along with a copy;

4. If it is the 12th grade certificate held as an entry to study the degree, attached with a copy certified by the Education Assessments and Examinations Service;

5. If the diploma is used as an entry to study the degree, it must be certified by the Technical and Vocational Agency or Zonal/City Administration Work and Training Office in the region where the diploma was obtained, and must be certified by the center where the Level 4 Certificate of Competency (COC) was obtained, attached with a copy and

6. If there is a change of name, they are attached with a copy of the court decision.

 

In addition to this, in order to confirm a Master's degree, the first degree must be confirmed in the manner described above, the Federal Education and Empowerment Authority has stressed.
