"They accused me of taking others husband"

It has become a concern that African women spend more and more time fetching clean drinking water instead of going to school

According to the African Water Association, African women spend more than 4 billion hours traveling to access clean drinking water.

An international conference on water, sanitation and the environment is being held in Côte d'Ivoire, Abidjan.

Dr. Salvian Asher, Chief Executive Officer of the African Water Association, said that the problem of providing clean drinking water and sanitation services is one of the foremost challenges facing the continent.

Although the supply problem is affecting all Africans, it is said that mainly women are the victims of the problem.

It was pointed out in the conference that women are spending more and more time searching for and fetching clean drinking water instead of going to school.

It was pointed out that women working in the sector should contribute their part to solve the problem.

For this reason, it is stated that governments should empower women, and it is said that it is better to modernize water and sanitation services.

It has been revealed that more than 600 million people in Africa do not have access to clean drinking water and sanitation services.
