The world's first stadium built from 974 shipping containers

Qatar will prepare eight stadiums for the World Cup matches, seven of which are newly built. Among these new stadiums is the 974 stadium.

It got its name from the fact that it was made from 974 recycled shipping containers, and also because Qatar's phone number starts with +974.

The concept of the stadium was developed by an architectural design firm called 'Fenwick Iriberan Architects'.

Some of the containers have financial services and parking.

Qatar plans to sell the stadium's shipping containers and seats to other countries after the World Cup, which began in spring 2018 and will be completed in 2021.

This makes Stadium 974 the first temporary stadium in FIFA World Cup history.

Located near the waterfront, the stadium can be easily reassembled.

They state that the purpose of the construction of the stadium is to use limited resources and reduce pollution and gases released into the atmosphere.

Stadium 974 will host seven World Cup games today, including Mexico's Group Four match against Poland at 1pm.
