The community was asked to be vigilant as there could be heavy rains that could cause flash floods
Addis Ababa: The National Meteorological Institute (NMA) has warned the public to be vigilant as there will be moisture that covers many areas in moderation and distribution and there may be heavy rains in some areas.
The institute urged the public to be vigilant as areas with high rainfall over the past few days and high water content of the soil can cause soil erosion and landslides in flood-prone areas.
Farmers are also asked to take precautionary measures as weeds can increase due to high humidity.
On the other hand, the expected humidity in pastoral and semi-pastoral areas, in combination with the better humidity in the past few days, will have a positive effect on improving the supply of drinking water and pasture, he said.
In general, the areas mentioned above will receive more than normal and above normal rainfall, which is important for improving the moisture content of the soil in the early spring and autumn crops as well as for meeting the water needs of various perennial plants and gardens.
