A project to work around street children and disabled children was officially launched today by the Dredawa administration.

 

      SOS Children's Village Program is a non-governmental international charity organization that gathers and protects children who have lost their parents for various reasons in our country, Ethiopia, so that they can serve their country independently.

 

       SOS has been designed and implemented in the Dredawa administration since March 2022 for street children and disabled children, and in order to implement this project in the Dredawa administration, an official launch and promotion work was done today at the conference hall of the Cleopatra Hotel in the presence of the senior government leaders of the Dredawa administration and the concerned parties.

 

      Mr. Girma Tesema, the deputy head of the Finance and Economic Development Office of the Dredawa administration, said that the government, especially in the Dredawa administration, will systematically carry out the work that needs to be done in connection with supporting the civic associations that are working in various social fields, and SOS is also providing support to street children. Ato Girma also said that SOS is ready to provide the necessary support for the works being done in the city.

 

     SOS Children's Village started working in our country Ethiopia 46 years ago and in these years it has been doing big works in seven regions and two city administrations, said Mr. Andualem Getachew, the director of SOS Children's Village in Ethiopia's Eastern Ethiopia Program. Andualem Getachew said that the project that started will be implemented for the next three years for the disabled and the project that will support around 2 thousand 700 street children and families for the next five years.
