In South Ethiopia Region, Wolaita Zone, with the guiding idea of ​​"Virtue for the Elevation of Ethiopia", by coordinating various sections of the society, over 2 thousand 300 houses were built and renovated overnight for the needy, the infirm and the elderly.

 

Wolaita Zone Chief Administrator Mr. Samuel Fola said that various activities are being done in the zone by involving many volunteers in the winter. He stated that various sections of society are participating in the voluntary service with their money, energy and ideas.

 

The chief administrator stated that overnight the movement of building and renovating more than 2 thousand 300 houses was conducted in 372 kebeles located in 16 districts and 7 urban administrations in the zone; In addition to this, he pointed out that various activities are being carried out to help the poor.

 

It is planned to build and renovate more than 4,000 houses in the zone during the winter volunteer service. Since the service started, many houses have been built and renovated and handed over to the needy.

 

On the other hand, the residents whose house was built and renovated by the volunteers said that they were very happy with the support given to them as the winter rain and cold made their life difficult.

 

It was also stated that extensive preparations are being made to achieve the national agenda of planting 600 million saplings in one night, which is part of the voluntary service of Arguade Ashara in the zone.
