Ermias Mekonen, the deputy head of the office, told Fana Broadcasting Corporation that Solel, Shadey, Ashendye and Angga Neklena Kese Achda, which are religious and traditional, will be celebrated this year regionally and nationally.
With this, he pointed out that the Buhe festival will be celebrated from August 13, 2014. It will be celebrated through panel discussions and public events in collaboration with Debre Tabor University, government organizations at all levels and the local community under the theme of "Debre Tabor in Debre Tabor".
He also stated that at the national level Shaday will be celebrated in the Wag Khamra ethnic zone from August 14, 2014. He said that it will be celebrated in public on August 16, 2014 in the presence of invited guests.
He indicated that on August 15, 2014, historical and religious relics in the city and its surroundings, including the Church of the Crucified Christ, will be visited and research articles will be presented on the day.
He also said that Ashendye will be celebrated in Lalibela and Solel in Kobo city from August 16 to 17, 2014.
Regarding the festivals in the North Wolo area, a summary schedule will be held at the regional level in Woldia city from August 19 to 20, 2014.
They pointed out that at the end of August, the harvest of Nengga and Kese Achda will be celebrated in Debre Markos city.
With this, they invited domestic visitors to visit the area.
He said that the fact that the religious and cultural festivals are celebrated in their natural location is aimed at stimulating the local economy and makes it different.
