Grade 8 regional examinations are being conducted in different regions

Addis Ababa: July 5, 2022. Grade 8 regional examinations have started in different regions.

Amhara State Education Bureau announced that it has started giving 8th grade regional exams to more than 359,000 students.

Curriculum Development and Implementation Director with the Bureau, Kase Abate, told ENA that the 8th grade regional examination was started today in 5,395 schools.

He said the test will be given for three consecutive days from today until June 30.

He said more than 193,000 or 53.8 percent of the test takers are women.

He said adequate security forces have been deployed at the school to complete the exam without any security problems.

Similarly, the 8th grade regional exam is being administered in Sidama State.

At the same time, Beyene said regional examinations for 8th grade students will be given at all stations starting from today.

He said the exam has started in 774 schools in the state.

Beyene said more than 33,000 challenging teachers have been deployed with 25 students per classroom.

Grade 8 exams have been started in 731 schools in the Somali region, with 45,931 students being tested and 226 students being tested in prisons in the region.

The head of the regional education bureau, Abdullahi Abdi, said the exam is the first step in ensuring the quality of education.
