Ethiopia finished third with 12 medals at the Under-20 World Athletics Championship held in Cali, Colombia.

Ethiopia finished third with 12 medals in the Under-20 World Youth Athletics Championship held in Cali, Colombia for the past 6 days.

 

The athletics team brought 6 gold, 5 silver and 1 bronze medals in total 12 medals, enabling Ethiopia to finish in 3rd place after America and Jamaica, and 1st place in Africa.

 

The Ethiopian Athletics Federation, which announced that 19 athletes of both genders have competed in 10 events in the championship, announced that the result is the highest in the history of participation in the World Under-20 Athletics Championship.

 

The Federation also stated that the results obtained in terms of the limited competition activities that Ethiopia participated in the championship are very proud.

 

Kenya finished 4th in the world with a total of 10 medals, including 3 gold, following Ethiopia.

 

USA finished first with 7 gold, 4 silver and 4 bronze for a total of 15 medals, while Jamaica finished second with 6 gold, 7 silver and 3 bronze for a total of 16 medals.
