#Ethiopia Ethiopia broke its own record by planting more than 566 million saplings overnight, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (Dr.) said.

Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed announced that 566 million 971 thousand 600 saplings have been planted in this year's program of planting 500 million saplings overnight.

The prime minister announced that this sapling was planted on 302 thousand hectares of land.

The Prime Minister mentioned that this number was compiled based on geospatial data; They stated that there are saplings planted in geospatially excluded areas and the number will be even higher.

They said that Ethiopia has improved the record of planting 350 million saplings in one night, which was held by itself after four years.

Ethiopia is planning to plant 25 billion saplings in the second phase (from 2015 to 2018) of the Green Footprint Program.
