A Technical and Vocational Training College built at a cost of 40 million birr in Kutaber City of South Wolo Zone was inaugurated today.

In her speech, Mrs. Fantu Tesfaye, Chief Speaker of the Amhara Regional Council, who attended the inauguration ceremony, stated that efforts are being made to produce educated and competent citizens by expanding the access to education and ensuring the quality of education.

He also stressed that the society must do its part to ensure the journey of prosperity by strengthening development while preserving its unity and peace.

On his part, Abdu Hussain, Chief Administrator of South Wolo Zone, said that efforts are being made to improve the level of schools by coordinating with stakeholders to produce a technologically advanced generation.

He said that the administration will do its part to ensure that Kutaber Technical and Vocational College, which was graduated today, is equipped with the necessary resources and manpower to successfully start its teaching and learning activities.

It is stated that the college has the capacity to receive and train 500 students.

He pointed out that work is being done to provide educational materials and manpower to receive and teach students, and he noted that the construction was done to ease the problems faced by the community due to the absence of a college in the area.

Among the residents of Kutaber city, Mr. Kedir Mohammed said that parents who could not afford to rent houses and teach their children because of the absence of a college in the city, said that their children were staying away from school.

They said that we are happy that a college has been established in our city and it has eased our problems, ESA reported.
