In the Benishangul Gumuz region, a program to thank the athletes was held in Asosa city under the slogan Let's work together and Ethiopia will win.

Benshangul Gumuz Regional Governor Mr. Ashadli Hassan said that in the 18th World Athletics Championship, our athletes showed the height of Ethiopia to the world by raising the flag of Ethiopia.

He said that our athletes deserve special respect and thanks for achieving this result while their country is in the midst of challenges.

The unity and dedication of our athletes shows the unity and strength of our citizens to overcome the challenge that our country has started and achieve success, said the Head of Government Ashadli Hassan.

The Head of Government said that everyone should pray and thank God according to their faith so that our country can achieve better results and achieve its prosperity.

A special honor and appreciation ceremony was held for the athletes in the presence of the top leaders and officials of the region as well as government employees.

National Defense Minister Dr. Abraham Bai said that the athletes who made Ethiopia worthy of this honor in the 18th International Athletics Championship deserve praise from God.

A hero's welcome and thanksgiving ceremony was held for the national defense army's sports team at the Ministry of Defence.

The thanksgiving ceremony was held in the presence of the Minister of Defense Dr. Abraham Bai, the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, General Badula Tadese and other general officers and members of the sports club.

In the 18th International Athletics Championship, the Sports Club involved one coach and 4 competitors.

Among these athletes, one silver medal was won by the basic soldier, Gold Water King, and one bronze medal was won by Hamsa chief David Seum for their country.

The minister said that falling for the flag is a manifestation of the defense forces. He said that the athletes have shown that there is success and victory if there is perseverance and determination, even though there are many trials and tribulations as a country.
