Ethiopia signed an agreement to oversee the Tigray reconstruction program supported by the World Bank.

 

The Ministry of Finance has announced on its social media page that the Ethiopian government has signed an agreement for the World Bank-supported Tigray reconstruction program to be overseen by the International Projects Service Office. The World Bank has allocated 300 million dollars for the reconstruction of Tigray region.

 

⚡️ Tigray Reconstruction Program is part of the national program designed by the government to rebuild conflict-ravaged areas in the country with financial support from the World Bank. The agreement was signed by the Minister of Finance Ahmed Shede and the representative of Ethiopia Worknesh Mekonen of the International Projects Service Office.

 

⚡️According to the agreement, the reconstruction of Tigray's basic services will be directly implemented by the United Nations Projects Service Office, while other third parties will implement the purpose of the program that deals with victims of sexual violence. It has been revealed that the United Projects Service Office will take over the program and implement it in the Tigray region until the problem between the Tigray region and the federal government is resolved and the government takes over the program.
