Regions provided more than 1.6 billion birr financial and in-kind support for the reconstruction of Tigray region

Regions have provided 1 billion 675 million Birr and in-kind support for the reconstruction of Tigray region.

The Heads of Government of Amhara and Afar states said that we will work to compensate the people of all three regions who have been affected by the war through joint development.

The head of government of Oromia region, Shimeles Abdisa, mentioned that 30 tractors and the supply of the best seeds will be supported for the Tigray region and promised to build a modern school.

He said that if the people of the region are ready to share, then we will participate in the development of 1 billion birr in total.

Addis Ababa Mayor Adanech Abebe said that in the first round, up to 500 million birr will be provided to strengthen the rehabilitation of the Tigray region, including the construction of a health center and a school.

 The head of the Sidama region, Sadata Ledamo, said that to show our solidarity, we will support the reconstruction of two destroyed schools with 20 million birr.

 Gambella Region Governor Umod Ujulu said that we have provided 10 million birr as the damage caused by the war requires joint efforts.

The mayor of Dredawa city, Kedir Jukhar, mentioned the importance of everyone's cooperation to strengthen our peace and said that they have provided support of 10 million birr in addition to the material.

In addition, Benshangul Gumuz Regional Governor Ashadli Hassan stated that they have provided 15 million birr to ensure that the people of the region and the government stand by the people of Tigray.

Also, the Deputy Head of the South West Ethiopian People's Region, Engineer Negash Wagesho, said that we should learn from the past to build good things in the future.

He stated that although the region is new, 10 million Birr has been supported in the effort to rehabilitate the people of Tigray.

The head of the southern region said that if we work together, we can compensate for the damage caused by the war.

He said that we will provide 20 million birr in kind and 30 million birr in financial support to the people of the south, including 1,500 quintals of seed inputs and farming equipment.

The head of the government of Somali region, Mustafa Mohamed, mentioned that the people of the region have given 20 million birr in financial support to help the people living in the Tigray region.

Harari Region Deputy Governor and Head of Agriculture Bureau, Nusra Abdullah said that the same region has received 10 million birr in financial support in the first round.

The Prosperity Party, on the other hand, promised to support 20 million birr, ESA reported.
