El Auto Engineering and Trading Pvt. Private Association car assembly plant was inaugurated today in Dredawa Free Trade Zone.

 

The car assembly factory, which cost more than 600 million birr, was inaugurated today in Dredawa Free Trade Zone.

 

The factory was jointly inaugurated by the Honorable Mayor of Dredawa Administration, Kedir Jhar Industrial Parks Development Corporation CEO Sendukan Debebe ElAuto Engineering and Trading Pvt. Private Association Manager Bekele Abebe, Elnet Business Group Founder and President Mr. Tokicha Alemayehu

 

Honorable Mayor Kedir Jhar in his speech at the ceremony stated that the administration will support the investors engaged in the sector to expand the car assembly factory in our administration and similar businesses.

 

Honorable Mayor Kedir Jhar added that Dredawa is an early access to technology. He thanked the owners on behalf of themselves and the management for the factory that was inaugurated in Dredawa today.

 

The factory assembles 4 types of car models and it is stated that it has the capacity to assemble up to 12,000 cars per year.

 

At present, it has created job opportunities for eighty workers, and it will be created for up to three hundred people in the future, according to the founder and president of Elnet Business Group, Mr. Tokicha Alemayehu, at the inauguration ceremony.

 

Mr. Tokicha said that there is a plan to assemble locally manufactured Medin Ethiopia cars in the near future.

 

Mr. Tokicha added that the factory can assemble thirty-five cars a day in three shifts.

 

He also noted that after a few years there is a plan to completely manufacture the car in the country.

 

El Auto Engineering and Trading Pvt. Ltd., a private association car assembly factory, has opened a branch in the neighboring country of Kenya and is doing engine assembly, it was stated in the forum.
