    COMMERCIAL BANK OF ETHIOPIA Branches' Swift Codes

     Swift Code is a standard format of Bank Identifier Codes (BIC) and it is unique identification code for a particular bank. These codes are used when transferring money between banks, particularly for international wire transfers. Banks also used the codes for exchanging other messages between them.

     

    The Swift code consists of 8 or 11 characters. When 8-digits code is given, it refers to the primary office. The code formatted as below;

    The registrations of Swift Codes are handled by Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication (“SWIFT”) and their headquarters is located in La Hulpe, Belgium.   • Ethiopian Electric Power Begins Construction Of 38-Storey HQ With 2.4 Bln Birr

     

    Addis Ababa, March 15, 2019 (KD) –Construction of the 38-storey new headquarter building (HQ) of the Ethiopian Electric Power (EEP) has official begun today at around Mexico square.

    Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of EEP, Dr Abrham Belay, and Gao Lei, General Manager of CGCOC Ethiopia attended the launching ceremony.

    The headquarter building will be undertaken on 47,881 sqm by the Chinese CGCOC Ethiopia at a cost of 2.4 billion birr to be financed by EEP itself.

    Addis Ababa, March 15, 2019 –Ethiopia has officially launched a five-year National Action Planning for Health Security (NAPHS) today.

    The action plan which runs 2019-2023 is well aligned with the country’s overall health policy, it was noted.

    World Health Organization (WHO) congratulated the country for launching the action plan, which is expected to bring significance improvement to the capacities to prevent, detect and respond to health threats.

    NAPHS is a country owned, multi-year, planning process that can accelerate the implementation of international health regulations (IHR) core capacities, and is based on a one health for all-hazards, whole-of-government approach.

    It captures national priorities for health security, brings sectors together, identifies partners and allocates resources for health security capacity development.

  • Ethiopian Government Inks Reconciliation Agreements With Afar, Gambella Opposition Movements

     

    Addis Ababa, March 15, 2019 (FBC) -The Government of Ethiopia has signed reconciliation agreements with the Afar Liberation Movement (ALM) and Gambella People’s Liberation Movement (GPLM).

    The agreements were signed in the Eritrean capital Asmara yesterday, according to Yemane Gebremeskel, Eritrea’s Minister of Information.

    The separate reconciliation agreements spell out frameworks for both movements to pursue their political objectives through peaceful means, he said.

    Ethiopia’s Defense Minister, Engineer Aisha Mohammed, and Deputy Chief Administrator of Afar regional state Usman Mohammed signed the agreement with ALM’s Chairman.

    The Gambella agreement was signed by the Chief Administrator of Gambella regional state, Omod Ojulu and the Chairman of GPIM, Yemane said on twitter.
